When our ancestors first gazed upon these steep slopes, they noticed something special. On sun-drenched stones, vipers loved to bask in the warmth.

People feared the snakes, yet respected them. They knew: where the viper thrives, so too will the vine. That is how the hill earned its name — Gadova peč. The vipers are long gone, but that same fierce sunshine remains, giving our wines a ripeness and character rarely found elsewhere in Dolenjska.
